About the Recording
Recorded in Moscow in 2005, this independently released album marks the beginning of Irina Kulikova’s discography as a solo artist. At the time, she was dividing her studies between Moscow and Salzburg while appearing at chamber music festivals and concert series across Europe.
The programme brings together works by Luigi Legnani, Fernando Sor, Johann Kaspar Mertz, Dionisio Aguado, Federico Moreno Torroba, Agustín Barrios Mangoré, and Joaquín Rodrigo, ranging from the nineteenth-century guitar tradition to key works of the twentieth-century repertoire.
